The Information Systems Division (ISD) bears direct responsibility
for the design, implementation, and oversight of the Board’s
computer technology and electronic communications operations.
ISD manages the state’s central monitoring system (CMS)
that electronically enables, controls, and monitors each gaming
machine located at licensed racetracks and non-profit organizations.
The Division is responsible for ensuring compliance with rules
and statutes by testing and verifying all gaming hardware and
software before it is introduced to the field. The Division monitors
the gaming activity of four racetracks and over fifty non-profit
gaming venues involving more than 2,100 gaming machines. ISD produces
daily transaction reports for each venue and the monthly invoices
for gaming taxes assessed on all non-tribal gaming machines. The
ISD designed, installed, and now manages a state-of-the-art internal
and wide area network for use by the Board and its employees.
This includes three field offices, which are connected through
a frame-relay network. The Division provides secure access to
several external law enforcement agencies and to the Internet.
In addition, the Division designed and now manages a system to
provide electronic access to gaming machine wager and payout data
at tribal gaming facilities.
