Administrative Services Division (ASD) oversees Budget, Financial
Management, and Procurement for the Gaming Control Board. The
Budget area is responsible for the annual preparation of the agency
budget request to be submitted to the Department of Finance and
Administration (DFA) and the Legislative Finance Committee (LFC).
The approved annual operating budget is also overseen by the Budget
area, which includes personal services/employee benefits, contractual
services, and other costs. During the course of the fiscal year,
each agency division submits their requests to the Budget Administrator
who in turn approves or rejects the requests for purchase. Budget
also prepares the monthly reconciliation with the assistance from
the Financial Management area. The Financial Management area is
responsible for, but is not limited to the following: accounts
receivable, accounts payable, fixed asset inventory, and auditing
of miscellaneous cash funds. Our accounts receivable mainly consist
of licensing fees, investigative and audit fees, and fines. These
fees are received from our licensed operators or applicants wishing
to be licensed. The Finance area provides daily customer service
to the agency by providing guidance for travel reimbursement,
supply requests, and much more. The Budget
and Finance area work closely together to ensure consistency in
the daily operations of ASD. In addition to acting as custodian
of budget and financial management, ASD oversees the annual agency
audit, all agency procurement, and agency contractual obligations.
